Yeah that was my interpretation, sweet.

Thread: The 7th Continent:: Rules:: Non-matching keywords in an item stack when discarding the top card

So, if I understand it correctly I may discard the top card of an item stack when a discard effect allows it (or some other specific effect). But when the top card is discarded, the new top card has the keywords to match.

What to do when the cards don't match any more? This could happen when the initial top card had two keywords.

1. do I continue playing and keep non-matching cards in the stack?
2. do I have to remove non-matching cards?

If you get Sushi Go you will eventually and inevitably wonder how different cards would play and probably will get SG Party. Might as well get SGP straight away. There are a few other posts on this subject.

Yep, there are no Kickstarter exclusives so retail copies are the same as Kickstarter copies.

GreenLaborMike wrote:

Here in the US, all "retail" copies are Kickstarter copies. AFAIK, The Game Steward has been the only retailer in the US to carry Gloom of Kilforth, and we backed both Kickstarter campaigns (it's now our single best seller by quantity in our 6 year history!).

That's absolutely fantastic! :wow:

We thought that the archers gave every battle in it's column, or the adjacent columns, the +1. It made them terribly hard to dislodge. But not impossibly so.

Okay, thanks, that explains the contradiction, but I'm still confused about the concept of Lightening the Load.

A few things:

1. I do not understand why dropping a grenade during your turn will reduce your Resource Value, but using the grenade against an enemy will not.

Similarly, why would dropping ammo reduce your Resource Value but using the ammo wouldn't?

2. It says you can Lighten the Load when "recalculating your Resource Value". Does this mean you can only drop equipment when a soldier is eliminated? If so, can you only drop the equipment of the soldier who was downed?

Thank you for the help.

I wish you luck ;)

The only way I was able to get mine was that I purchased a full expensive set on eBay, took out what I needed, and then traded the rest of the base game to a user here on BGG.

I’ve never dropped equipment just to lighten the load, however I keep used items like grenades and empty ammo clips off to the side.
Then when activating new Hostiles I reduce my starting RP total by the amount of the used items.

I'm pretty confused by this question, and that makes me think maybe you're missing a rule somewhere.

When you craft/find an item you can add it to ANY stack, but if a keyword on it matches with a keyword for the TOP item in that stack, you get to add durability to the item.

If there's no match with the TOP card, you can still add the card, but you don't get the durability boost.

When discarding individual cards from items (which is not allowed unless something tells you to do so), if you lose the TOP card of an item, then the die just ends up on the card below, and that is now the new TOP card. Future additions to the stack will be checked against that card now.

Does this make sense?

Buy Sushi Go.

If you like it, give it to someone as a gift, buy Sushi Go Party.

If you don't like it, give it to someone as a gift.

My solution is to bite the bullet and paint me as being the "weird one". Yes, I know cards are just objects, and it really doesn't matter, but humor me and try to not be destroying them because for some obscure reason it bugs me. It's a weird quirk I have. Must be my upbringing or something.

1. The manual says that I start with a character and a fire place but it does not advice what the fire plase does? Can I move it or is just a first tile marker? What are the fires benefits?

2. During an action a player ( or players) can keep one of the blue hand cards. If I decide not to, does it go to the discard or Past?

A common misconception is that you can only combine items that share a keyword. This is decidedly NOT true. As stated above, anything can be combined with anything.

If you check pg. 20 in the rulebook, you will see that there is no restriction on what can be combined with what. However having the new item share the keyword with the top item adds a bonus in the form of durability gain, which why you usually want to try and achieve. But in a pinch, put that item wherever.

In your example, removing the top card changes nothing, except that now potential durability bonus will depend on the new top card.

This is an awesome report and great news!

I had just started dipping my toes into KS when I saw this project. Really wanted to back at that time but couldn't. So glad to see it propped up as a great example.

I will be looking to get a copy of this game. ;)

Thank you.
