Hahaha, you're having entirely too much fun with this :DYes, of course you're right that you CAN increase the in-game variation by adding more cards, depending on what cards you add, but I admitted as much. The point is that you can also do that just by changing the quantities of cards in your deck, no need to change the size.
Whether or not you WANT to increase the variation is dependent on your valuation of the cards in your deck. Most of the time you don't want to run 45 unique cards for instance, even though this give you maximum variation. If there is one card that is the best or most crucial card in your deck you don't want variation, you want to draw that card as quickly and as often as possible. You want to draw all 3 of those cards every single game you play without fail.
If you are running 3 each of 15 different cards and feel you're drawing the same things too often and more than you need to. You don't need to increase the deck size to increase the variety of options in the deck, just bring the less useful or more situational cards down from the 3 copies, and add ones and twos of other cards you want.
