So I have played my first trial run of Legacy now.And I am unsure about one thing - the order in which technologies, success, failure and discarding are done.
The rulebook gives the impression that...
...first, success is checked, and only in
...second place technologies without influence cubes are discarded.
This would mean that technologies are successful as long as all technologies on which they are dependent are also present, whether influenced or not. In fact, success of a technology seems to not have anything to do with influence, at all...
I am bringing this up because I had the situation that the "Refrigeration" technology (1 influence) had both needed technologies present two timeframes earlier. However, "Agriculture" did not have any Influence markers on it at all.
If I now follow the instructions of the rulebook to the letter, and in the order given, then:
1. Refrigeration is successful
2. Agriculture is removed only after the success of Refrigeration has been checked
Is this true?
Or are these things happening more simultaneously, meaning that due to no Influence cubes Agriculture is discarded immediately, and therefore Refrigeration is missing one of its dependencies. Which makes it a failure...
